Job Description
Summary/Objective
As a Server, you will be responsible for interacting with restaurant guests, fellow employees, and supervisors in a polite, courteous, and hospitable manner, to ensure an exemplary dining experience. You will take orders, give enticing suggestions, conduct full and complete food/wine/beverage service, and monitor guests' dining experience by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions

  • Presents menu, answers questions, makes suggestions regarding food and beverage.
  • Adheres to all responsible alcohol consumption requirements as dictated by the state.
  • Ability to sell alcohol and food items.
  • Able to use a computer to ring orders on a check.
  • Able to interact with guests in a friendly/fast manner.
  • Able to accept different types of payment and make a change.
  • Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant.
  • Ability to clear and reset tables.
  • Check identification of guests to ensure guests are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages. Refuse to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age.
  • If consuming alcoholic beverages, observe guest's behavior, count number of drinks served, and if the server feels they should not drive, offer a taxi. Do not hesitate to ask a manager to intervene.
  • All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed guests' expectations.
  • Report to work in a neat and clean uniform. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
  • Must be able to pass Responsible Service of Alcohol Test with a score of 90% or better.
  • Perform any other duties assign by his/her manager.

Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work environment
This position operates in a restaurant setting. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days vary based on business needs. This includes weekends, holidays, evenings and/or overnight shifts.
Required Education and Experience
  • A minimum of (2) years of restaurant experience.
  • A minimum of (1) year of experience in a hotel environment.
  • Culinary school diploma or degree in food service management or related field.
  • Must be able to work independently and exercise good judgment to resolve issues.
  • Guest-oriented and service-minded.
  • Flexible schedule. Able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
