Balancing scheduled maintenance with unexpected breakdowns requires strong organizational skills and effective communication with supervisors and other departments. Many organizations use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to help track tasks and improve workflow efficiency.

To thrive as a Maintenance Technician, you need solid troubleshooting skills, mechanical and electrical knowledge, and often a high school diploma or technical certification. Familiarity with tools such as multimeters, HVAC systems, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is typically required.
