Job description

NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking a Maintenance Employee at Mountain View Cemetery in Lakewood, WA . Our maintenance teams take pride in maintaining our grounds with attention to detail and tradition, ensuring every familys unique experience is honored. As integral parts of our community, our maintenance workers have a strong sense of ownership in our grounds and locations, reflecting the highest standards of quality and comfort in this stable role. In this role, the facilities maintenance crew gains transferable skills fostering even more of a sense of purpose.

Responsibilities

  • General Facility Maintenance, including :
    • Cleans and maintains the facility, performs minor repairs, painting, etc.
    • Vehicle and equipment washing/cleaning
  • Groundskeeping, including:
    • Cuts grass.
    • Maintains lawn and trims around trees, walkways, and memorial markers
    • Blows leaf and grass
    • Edges with stick edger
    • Clears debris and maintains drives and walkways in a safe condition.
    • Cleans ponds and fountains
    • Hand digs/trenching
  • Pressure washing parking areas as needed

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent education preferred
  • This role requires the ability to perform essential physical tasks associated with groundskeeping and facility maintenance, including operating equipment, lifting and moving materials, and performing activities such as walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, and balancing.
  • 6 + months of experience in grounds keeping preferred

Compensation

  • $18-19/hr.
