Job description

Summary:

The Millwright is responsible for assisting in the execution of the maintenance program for the facility, including performing preventative maintenance, breakdown, troubleshooting and repairs. In addition, this position assists with electrical and mechanical up-keep, equipment installation and improvements. Completing all tasks in compliance with Forum’s HSE program and initiatives, ensuring our core value that No One Gets Hurt. May handle special projects as assigned. This position may participate in a rotational on call schedule.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and installation work with a high level of quality, workmanship, and attention to detail.
  • Transport tools and equipment between storage and designated work areas.
  • Support the disassembly and relocation of machinery and equipment.
  • Perform repairs on LP gas accessories and carry out related preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Perform diagnostics on PLCs, CNC machines, and electrical circuitry.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC and chiller systems.
  • Work according to company mandates for communication, meetings and projects.
  • Responsible for effective record keeping, filing and other administrative duties such as maintenance logs and reports on daily activities.
  • Communicate/report on equipment performance issues and coordinate their activities when assisting with PM or repair activities.
  • Complete all preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Actively participate in improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and efficiencies.
  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained.
  • Participate in the ISO Quality Program, Health, Safety and Environment program, including adhering to all policies.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Mechanically inclined and comfortable in troubleshooting environments.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and with time constraints.
  • Must be able to read and interpret written and oral instructions to perform assigned duties and provide accurate paperwork and work orders.
  • Ability and carry materials weighing up to 45lbs.
  • Ability to work as a team and independently as required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Journeyman Millwright in Alberta, or an equivalent qualification through education and experience.

Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Manufacturing or similar environment
  • Prior experience related to facility and machine maintenance considered an asset.
