Job description

Description:

SanTan Brewing Company is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Chandler, AZ.

Located in the Phoenix metro’s East Valley, SanTan was founded in 2007 in downtown Chandler, where we continue to operate a 15-bbl brewery & restaurant in our original

location. In 2013, we added a production facility with a 50-bbl brewhouse, where we package beer in both cans and draft. SanTan branched out into distilled spirits in 2017

and is now Arizona’s largest distillery in addition to our brewery.

The Restaurant Maintenance Technician will report to the Engineering Manager and join a team of 100+ production and restaurant staff. The maintenance team typically

operates between 6a – 6p, on a staggered basis, but will occasionally be expected to work outside of these hours when certain projects deem it necessary. Maintenance

personnel also move between our main production plant and brewpub restaurant, performing maintenance tasks at each facility.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide Support to production lines by troubleshooting failures and other issues and making necessary repairs to production and facility equipment to maximize
  • efficiencies
  • Complete all assigned work orders and preventative maintenance tasks through MaintainX.
  • Participate in rebuilds and overhauls on production line, changeovers and support equipment.
  • Provide consistent communication with fellow maintenance team members and Operations team through End of Shift Recaps.
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces.
  • Follows established safety, quality and environmental policies, practices, and programs.
  • Clean tools, parts and equipment after line rebuilds/repairs/maintenance.
  • Install new equipment as necessary and provide technical expertise to train and support production with a continued desire for lean supply chain process initiatives
  • and improvement.
  • Operate and monitor equipment.
  • Quality reviews of equipment assigned to maintain safety and performance standards.
  • Communicate and treat fellow co-workers and other members of the SanTan team with respect
  • Adhere to a “Safety Always” mindset and comply with safety policies & programs
  • Approach every task with quality in mind, paying attention to detail & accuracy
  • Perform scheduled and time-sensitive maintenance and repairs on commercial kitchen and restaurant equipment including: Ovens, Fryers, Stovetops, Refrigerators,
  • Ice Machines, Beverage Equipment, and other bar and restaurant equipment
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all equipment, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment.
  • Perform building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, and other basic construction repairs
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment; diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Record all work performed and cost of maintenance or repair work in the company CMMS system (training provided).
  • Repair and replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Travel between company locations to perform maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Assist with other maintenance department needs and special projects.
  • Travel to hardware stores and supply houses to procure parts and tools necessary to make repairs.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors as needed regarding repairs or projects that are outsourced or otherwise out of the scope of the assigned duties.
  • Occasionally operate heavy equipment and company vehicles as needed including forklifts and large trucks and trailers.
  • The employee will be frequently exposed to wet, cold, hot or humid conditions/temperatures.
  • Machinery operation and repair may require the use of safety equipment to include: eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, hardhats, and energy Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) equipment.
  • Be able to assist other departments when needed

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent degree/certificate
  • Trade School certified preferred
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read schematics
  • Welding and Fabrication experience
  • Experience working with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC systems
  • Ability to learn new software and interfaces quickly. Strong computer skills
  • Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning), Plumbing, Welding, Fabrication, docks and doors, security systems
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, production operators, and industrial technology preferred
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as directed by the business

  • Bend, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, climb ladders and stairs
  • Stand for prolonged periods
  • Work indoors, outdoors, and on rooftops when necessary
  • Work safely with chemicals of varying composition, including wearing personal protection equipment such as gloves and goggles
  • Safely work at height on ladders and elevated platforms
  • Safely work in and around confined spaces
  • Operate a pallet jack and complete forklift certification
  • Regularly lift/carry heavy objects (55 lbs.) repeatedly and safely above waist-level
  • Occasionally move heavy objects (165 lbs.)
