In addition, Ultra-met has invested in a brand new, extensive, and site-specific training program. Tailored to make employees more comfortable, knowledgeable, and excited in their new position at Ultra-met. The training is completed prior to working in the plant. This assists our new employees as they transition into the team.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing all electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment problems.
  • Coordinating preventative maintenance and repair activities with supervisory and management personnel.
  • Performing assigned equipment and facility PM procedures.
  • Maintaining equipment repair records.
  • Performing building and grounds maintenance such as painting, snow removal lawn care.
  • Performing low voltage ( lt;600VAC) wiring projects such as running power for new equipment and lighting.
  • Performing basic plumbing and repairs of both threaded and soldered piping systems.
  • Fabricating and repairing metal tables, fixtures, and stands using MIG and stick welding techniques.
  • Performing basic machining tasks using the mill, lathe, drill press, and surface grinders.
  • Operating all department equipment in a safe manner.
  • Maintaining all department equipment in a clean and reliable condition.
  • Collaborating with the other employees to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Performing miscellaneous duties as assigned.
