Vanguard Resources, Inc. (VRI) is actively recruiting for a Full-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician - Level III (Plumber) to join our team at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX.

Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician - Level III (Plumber) is an experienced skilled trades professional responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing plumbing systems throughout a hospital and associated facilities.

This position performs preventive and corrective maintenance on domestic water, sanitary, waste, drainage, fixtures, valves, pumps, and other plumbing-related systems and equipment. The Plumber responds to plumbing emergencies, identifies system issues, determines appropriate repairs, and works to minimize disruption to hospital operations and patient care.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on plumbing experience, solid troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with hospital staff, vendors, contractors, and the VRI facilities management team.

Healthcare or hospital maintenance experience is preferred.

The position reports to the Facility Supervisor and Facility Manager.

Schedule
  • Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Schedule options: Sunday-Thursday, Monday-Friday, or Tuesday-Saturday
  • A flex schedule may occasionally be assigned based on client and facility needs.

Requirements

 Selected candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check and complete all required hospital health screenings and vaccinations. 


Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of plumbing or skilled facilities maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience performing plumbing installation, repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to use common plumbing tools, equipment, and testing devices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot plumbing systems and determine appropriate repairs or when additional support is required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a facilities maintenance team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff, contractors, vendors, and management.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must complete required hospital health screenings and vaccinations.
  • Valid driver's license or government-issued identification.
Preferred
  • Hospital or acute-care facilities experience.
  • Technical or trade school training in plumbing or a related field.
  • Experience with commercial or institutional plumbing systems.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and computerized work-order systems.
  • Plumbing license or applicable trade certification, where required by local or state regulations.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and maintenance/work-order systems.
