The Hilton Christiana in Newark, DE is looking for a Maintenance Technician that is responsible for maintaining and repairing all hotel equipment from kitchen, laundry and plumbing to HVAC, electrical and guest rooms. You’re the one to rely upon!  

As a Maintenance Technician, we trust your multitasking skills, your ability to solve problems, ask for help if needed, and we certainly hope you enjoy dealing with people: your peers, your coaches and the guests.  
The Maintenance Tech at the Hilton Christiana should be detailed oriented and should strive to meet and exceed the department and hotel goals and standards. 
 

What is expected from a Maintenance Tech (This list is not comprehensive of all the tasks that you might be asked to do): 

  • Resolves guest complaints to the satisfaction of the guest; responds promptly to any guest request for service. 
  • Arrives at work in a timely fashion in accordance with the posted schedule. 
  • Abides by established uniform guidelines. 
  • Maintains a “can do” and a “guests first” attitude at all times. 
  • Works as a member of the overall hotel team to ensure that each guest has an experience that exceeds their expectations  
  • Attends scheduled training sessions within the hotel as dictated by the Hilton brand and the hotel management.  
  • Check and perform repairs to refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems. 
  • Communicate with hotel departments to become aware of maintenance needs and ensures timely response to requests, e.g., Housekeeping Department for laundry/housekeeping equipment and room repairs, Food and Beverage Department for kitchen equipment, Guest Services Department for various guest concerns.  
  • Execution of the hotel’s preventive maintenance program.  

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 lbs independently and assist with heavier items when needed.
  • Use manual dexterity to move equipment, luggage, wheelchairs, and safety tools.
  • Use computers and systems to complete reports and access work-related information.
