Job description

Meyer Utility Structures is searching for aMaintenance Supervisor. In this role, you will lead and support the Clinton, IL utility pole manufacturing plant by leading and supporting a team of maintenance technicians to ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance and efficient resolution of unscheduled work orders. This role trains and coaches technicians while diagnosing and resolving operating issues across manufacturing machinery and facility systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry. The position uses blueprints, schematics, tools, and electronic test equipment to troubleshoot, repair, and modify computer-controlled and electronic equipment, including PLC/CNC wiring and programming, while maintaining strict adherence to safety practices and participating in safety initiatives as needed.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead a team of maintenance technicians in ensuring all scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled work orders are completed correctly and efficiently
  • Teach, train, coach and lead our maintenance technicians in the achievement of all required tasks
  • Help determine causes of and solutions for operating problems in manufacturing machinery, electrical systems/components, plumbing systems, HVAC, carpentry, electrical fixtures/switches/power sources, and mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Use blueprints, schematics, small/power tools, and electronic test equipment to perform a variety of maintenance tasks.
  • Lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify production electronic components, parts, switch panels, electronic equipment, and systems
  • Wiring and programming of electronics and control boxes with PLC and CNC programming
  • Make electronic, mechanical, or electrical repairs on all computer-controlled equipment
  • May be required to perform Equipment Technician work as needed
    Follow all safety rules and practices
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
