Role Description

The Maintenance Porter performs a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the parking facility while delivering a service that exceeds customer and clients' expectations. Depending on the needs of the location, the Maintenance Porter is responsible for general maintenance, upkeep of the parking deck, and repairs of parking equipment (involving replenishment of tickets). The Maintenance Porter works closely with fellow team members, Operations Manager, and/or Shift Supervisor to ensure that standards are always met.


Principal Responsibilities


Facility Maintenance:

  • Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the parking deck.
  • Schedule and coordinate repairs and maintenance projects.
  • Conduct regular inspections and recommend necessary repairs.
  • Ensure all machines are working correctly.
  • Operate the sweeper to keep the garage ramps clean (subject to location).
  • Paint lines and directions when necessary.


Customer Service:

  • Explain parking agreements and provide facility information to prospective parkers.
  • Assist customers as needed.


Operations:

  • Write parking violations and boot cars that are parked illegally (subject to location).
  • Empty and clean all trash cans.
  • Wipe down elevator, entrance, and exit walls.
  • Walk each floor to ensure all trash is picked up.


Working Conditions

  • Work is performed on-site in the elements either outdoors or inside the parking deck for extended periods, including up to the entire duration of the shift.
  • Team members are subject to environmental conditions including extreme heat, rain, and cold weather.
  • Specific uniforms may be provided for the weather, but not necessarily for temperature changes.
