West Point Mill is seeking an hourly Mechanical Maintenance with the ability to provide primary millwright skills for the West Point Mill.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
* Participate in all department safety programs.
* Flexibility to work in a multi-craft role and contribute to accomplishing results in a team- based environment.
* Good understanding of the types and application of equipment lubrication.
* Effective troubleshooting abilities.
* Ability to read and understand equipment manuals & drawings.
* Ability to properly document repairs and inspections.
* Computer skills adequate to look up bill of materials & stores parts, enter work results, and complete work orders.
* Good working knowledge of rigging equipment and techniques.
* Ability to measure, lay out, and fabricate repair parts.
What you need to succeed:
For a Class 1 Helper:
* Five years of relevant industrial experience at a journeyman mechanic's level, or
* Two-year technical degree in mechanical technology, or four years' relevant technical military experience
* Exceptional communication skills and the ability and willingness to work shift work.
For a Class A Journeyman:
* Ten years of relevant industrial experience at a journeyman mechanics or electrician/instrumentation level - or
* Five years of relevant industrial or military experience and a two-year technical degree
* Exceptional communication skills and the ability and willingness to work shift work.

โ€ข Class B: $37.42/hour. Promotion to Class A after 12 months.
โ€ข Class A: $42.62/hour. Final step to Class AAA ($45.86/hour) based on tenure and qualifications.
Total Progression Time: 2.25-2.5 years (27-31 months) from Class 1 Helper to Class A.
