Join our team as a Carpenter's Helper and begin building a career creating custom-designed outdoor living spaces. In this hands-on role, you'll work alongside experienced carpenters constructing high-quality screened porches, decks, sunrooms, 3-season rooms, and hardscape features for residential clients throughout Northern Virginia.
As a Carpenter's Helper, you'll assist with all phases of construction while learning the skills and techniques needed to advance in the trade. Responsibilities
  • Assist lead carpenters with the construction of custom outdoor living spaces, including screened porches, decks, sunrooms, 3-season rooms, pergolas, and hardscape features.
  • Load, unload, organize, and transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites.
  • Measure, cut, and prepare lumber and other building materials under the direction of experienced carpenters.
  • Assist with framing, decking, railing installation, trim work, screening systems, and finish details.
  • Support hardscape installations, including paver patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools while following company safety procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites throughout each project.
  • Follow project plans and instructions while learning proper construction techniques and installation methods.
  • Assist with job site cleanup, punch-list items, and final project detailing to ensure a polished, client-ready finish.
  • Represent the company professionally while working at client homes.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in construction, carpentry, landscaping, hardscaping, or a related trade is preferred but not required.
  • Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn new skills and accept coaching.
  • Comfortable using basic hand and power tools or eager to learn.
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a positive attitude.
