Overview

Opportunity: Chief Engineer

Manage general and preventative maintenance functions to ensure guest service and sustainability standards are achieved and maintained throughout the hotel structure.

Your Growth Path

Area Chief Engineer – Regional Director of Engineering

Your Focus
  • Leadership: Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates to ensure they perform in accordance with brand standards and HHM core values.
  • Financial and Vendor Oversight: Manage and coordinate bids, quotes, and contracts for 3rd party vendors.
  • Project Management: Oversee small projects or Property Improvement Plans (PIPs) and report on work progress.
  • Technical Repairs: Perform and oversee diverse tasks including sheetrock repair, painting, furniture refinishing, and the replacement of electrical and plumbing fixtures.
  • Equipment and Systems: Troubleshoot kitchen equipment and repair heating/cooling pumps. You will also install and program televisions.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of PMs on all rooms and equipment; test and maintain life safety systems to ensure they are 100% operational.
  • Compliance: Coordinate compliance of service contracts and ensure all work meets local, state, and Federal codes.
  • Operations: Maintain the building exterior and curb appeal while following EarthView sustainability guidelines.
  • Safety and Service: Practice safe work habits following MSDS and OSHA standards while working to increase guest satisfaction scores.
Your Background and Skills
  • High School diploma and/or trade school coursework in a related field is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory engineer/maintenance experience (or equivalent training) is required.
  • HVAC certification is required.
  • Other certifications may be required based on local needs.

Work Environment and Context

  • Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends or alternate shifts.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling or crouching.
