Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Planner
Department: Facility Technology Team
Shift: Core business hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Direct Report: Maintenance Unit Manager
Type: Exempt; Full-time

About the Maintenance Planner position

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to lead and drive area maintenance and preventive maintenance for the Unit. The planner will be the point person and local expert for using Hankook Tire's proprietary CMMS platform. The planner ensures the availability of all parts and materials. The planner also manages the site's vehicle fleet service and repairs in conjunction with technician support.

Responsibilities are:
  • Actively supports and drives a Safety Always Culture, a 5S workplace
  • Supports continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives
  • Using SAP for Parts ordering and Inventory Management
  • Creates and maintains preventative maintenance plans and daily inspections for the unit equipment and facilities
  • Maintains the master maintenance schedule and CMMS equipment master list
  • Create, order and maintain spare parts as per equipment needs and criticality whilst managing budget and MRO Inventory
  • Coordinates and plans for all shutdown related work. Pre-order and stage all parts and materials. Complete post shutdown reports for sharing with management
  • Manages the vehicles and forklift fleet by utilizing contract and direct hire technicians
  • Supervises the vehicle technicians and manages time and attendance conducts performance reviews
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements are:

Education:

  • (Required) high school diploma or GED
  • (Preferred) engineering/ technical (chemical, mechanical, electrical, industrial, etc.) degree or business degree

Experience:

  • (Required) 5-8 years of preventive/proactive industrial maintenance experience

Language:

  • (Required) good command of written and spoken English

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Engineering and Technology - Demonstrated know-how related to practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
  • Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Mechanical - Functional knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Applied understanding of predictive, preventive and proactive maintenance methodologies
  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets
  • Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
