Job Description Performs responsible unskilled work in the repair, maintenance, and care of the County's grounds and related structures and equipment. Does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.

The hiring range for this position is $14.63/hour to $19.58/hour based on experience Examples of Duties Assists with building and grounds maintenance work; Assists in repairing drives and walkways; Marks off athletic fields to prescribed standards; Runs errands, picks up and delivers supplies and materials; Assists in the propagating, planting, cultivating, watering and spraying of flowers, plants, shrubs and trees, and turf areas; Cuts, prunes and trims trees, shrubs and hedges, rakes leaves, and removes fallen limbs and trash; Performs litter control duties Performs custodial and maintenance tasks for recreational facilities; Operates light automotive or power equipment in connection with above tasks; Enters hours worked into computer software daily; Performs related tasks as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Some knowledge of the tools, materials, and equipment used in horticulture; Some knowledge of the materials, equipment, tools, and techniques of the standard building trades; Some knowledge of safety precautions applicable to the duties of the position; Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; Ability to use common hand tools; Ability to operate machinery and equipment; Ability to work holidays, weekends, evenings, mornings, or as needed. Education and Experience Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the eighth grade and some experience in grounds work.
