Job description

DIRECT HIRE POSITION-UNFORTUNATELY UNABLE TO WORK WITH VISAS OR C2C

Seeking a Mainframe Systems Administrator who will support current and future implementations of Unisys ClearPath MCP mainframes and related system software/hardware with in order to maintain maximum performance and reliability in a mainframe environment.

Responsibilities:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Performing highly technical system configuration and programming.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Installation and configuration of mainframe systems and related devices for network and storage system connectivity

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Work collaboratively with other Operations and Technology teams, users, and product stakeholders

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Serve as an internal consultant to systems development staff for information on components of the operating system including file management routines, system performance analysis and software enhancements

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Develop utility software to perform system or application related automation tasks

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Additional functions and responsibilities:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Programs and supports mainframe related PC server and desktop scripting

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Supports PC server and desktop configuration of applications that interface with mainframe

Required Skills:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Knowledge of systems programming concepts such as table and bit manipulation, messaging, queuing, database organization and disk I/O

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience with Unisys ClearPath Libra mainframe hardware installation and configuration including OPS console, System Editor, OC Manager, Network connectivity, Storage network connectivity, Software Installation

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience with Unisys ClearPath Software Series VM based system installation and configuration

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  General knowledge of Windows networking and iSCSI concepts

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Knowledge of the integration of the Microsoft Windows server, Linux server and Unisys mainframe in distributed environment

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, or a combination of equivalent education and experience in systems configuration, programming, and integration.

Desired Skills:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Knowledge of Unisys MCP mainframe operating environment and utilities including: DMSII, COMS, CCF, Security Center, System Assistant, NX/Services, OLEDB, Secure-Transport, Simple Install, Log Analyzer, CANDE / WFL, Programmerโ€™s Work Bench, MCP based disk mirroring
