Job Description

We are looking for a Mainframe Analyst to analyze, maintain, and enhance existing mainframe applications while extracting and documenting business rules. This position will be contract and hybrid in Trenton, NJ.

What You ll Do

Analyze existing COBOL/CICS/DB2/MQ programs to extract and document business logic and rules

Review batch processing systems, including JCLs and procedures, to document program workflows

Perform analysis, design, coding, and testing of application code owned by the Application Team

Support production systems, including maintenance, enhancements, and issue resolution

Develop or modify programs and DB2 stored procedures and perform unit testing

Collaborate with IT and business units to design and implement technical solutions for case management systems

Participate in system and usability testing alongside business users

Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation

Work under the supervision of the AOC Project Manager or designated IT representative

What You ll Need

Required:

4-year college degree or equivalent technical study

8+ years of experience with:

COBOL/CICS/DB2 coding, testing, and debugging

IBM OS/JCL (MVS)

CICS

IBM DB2

Developing technical and supporting documentation

Participating in system and usability testing with users

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams

Experience coding complex DB2 stored procedures

Experience with MQ or APPC/LU 6.2 programming in COBOL-CICS

Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Preferred:

Experience with IDMS/DC to CICS conversions

Experience with IDMS to DB2 conversions

Experience with database conversions

Prior experience supporting case management systems or judiciary-related applications
