Overview

The Administrator, Oncology Services is responsible for the management, strategic planning, business development, and operational performance of all oncologic services within the Maimonides Health system. They will also be the administrative partner to the Medical Director for any/all oncology relationships/partnerships (i.e. Downstate, etc.). They leverage strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with external partners and organizational colleagues.

The Administrator, Oncology Services oversees all aspects of oncology services delivered within the health system. They are accountable for the development and execution of a 5-year business plan, strategic growth of services within the network, development of community referral patterns, access, and personnel management.  In partnership with the Medical Director, the Administrator, Oncology Services leads the development and execution of operational strategy at the Oncology service line.  They create appropriate dashboards and reports, to guide operational improvements, develops and monitors key performance indicators, and leads oncology wide initiatives and projects.


Responsibilities
  • Leads strategic and operational planning for the cancer service line, including program development, goal setting, and priority alignment in collaboration with the Medical Director.
  • Provides overall leadership and direction to ensure high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, appropriate staffing, and professional competency across all departments.
  • Oversees budget development, resource allocation, and financial performance to support strategic and operational objectives.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and third-party payer requirements; leads audit activities and implements corrective action plans.
  • Directs full-cycle staff management, including hiring, performance evaluations, employee development, and disciplinary actions, while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Supervises daily operations of clinical and non-clinical staff, including oversight of care delivery models, patient flow, scheduling, and productivity metrics.
  • Collaborates with physicians, managers, and senior leadership to implement process improvements, enhance patient care, and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Monitors operational and financial performance metrics; contributes to performance improvement planning, outcome evaluation, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Coordinates cross-functional projects to ensure seamless operations and minimize disruption to patient care.
  • Maintains departmental policies, procedures, and standards related to quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
  • Ensures all required licenses, certifications, inspections, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, Commission on Cancer) are current and maintained.

Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration or Healthcare related field.                   
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in an operating or development leadership role at a cancer center or other hospital-based specialty service.
  • Good organizational abilities
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position; knowledge of a secondary language preferred.

Pay Range
USD $225,000.00 - USD $250,000.00 /Yr.
