Description
The Student Assistant will provide administrative support to the department. In addition to performing miscellaneous clerical duties, the Student Assistant will also be required to answer phones and greet visitors to the office, taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as necessary. They will also be required to assist with various department projects as assigned.
-Greet and assist incoming visitors
-Answer a wide variety of questions related to the department's procedures and other general questions (training will be provided)
-General clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, shredding, sending faxes and other duties as assigned
-Assist with heavy volume of phones; taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as necessary
-Perform other such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
Requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Must be able to handle confidential information in a discreet manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliable and patient with visitors
  • Office experience a plus
