KP is looking for a Hybrid/Remote Data Processing Programmer. The ideal candidate possesses strong experience with Quadient Inspire, modern data hygiene platforms, and data transformation processes, with the ability to translate client and business requirements into scalable, reliable, and efficient production solutions. This role works closely with Client Services, Operations, Manufacturing, and Data Processing teams to deliver accurate, compliant, and high-quality customer communications.

The Data Processing Programmer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting data processing solutions that drive high-volume print, mail, and customer communication workflows. This position combines technical programming expertise with operational knowledge of variable data printing, mailing compliance, document composition, and workflow automation.

This role works closely with Client Services, Operations, Manufacturing, and Data Processing teams to deliver accurate, compliant, and high-quality customer communications. This position offers a growth path into future technical leadership opportunities for individuals who demonstrate exceptional technical expertise, collaboration, and process improvement capabilities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Variable Data Programming & Document Composition

  • Design, develop, and maintain variable data applications using Quadient Inspire Designer. Experience with Scaler and ICM is desired.
  • Create and support complex customer communications, transactional documents, direct mail campaigns, and multi-channel delivery solutions.
  • Develop reusable templates, components, and workflows utilizing configuration-driven design methodologies.
  • Design dynamic content logic, business rules, conditional messaging, and document personalization.
  • Troubleshoot document composition, formatting, output, and production issues.

Data Processing & Database Development

  • Process and transform large datasets for print and mail production programs.
  • Develop automation solutions utilizing Quadient Inspire, BBC Architect, KNIME, Redpoint, Python, JavaScript, and other enterprise technologies.
  • Design automated data validation, data cleansing, and quality assurance routines.
  • Support data imports, exports, integrations, and file transformation requirements.
  • Optimize database performance and processing efficiency for large-volume production environments.

Mailing & USPS Compliance Support

  • Support USPS mailing workflows including address standardization, NCOA processing, CASS certification, merge/purge processing, and postage optimization.
  • Develop and maintain mailing-related automation and quality control processes.
  • Create and support Mail.dat generation and postal reporting requirements.
  • Assist with USPS compliance initiatives and mailing industry best practices.
  • Ensure data processing activities support postal, regulatory, and client requirements.

Quality Assurance & Production Support

  • Perform testing, validation, troubleshooting, and debugging of production solutions.
  • Develop automated quality control checks and audit processes.
  • Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
  • Maintain detailed processing documentation, file layouts, workflows, and technical specifications.
  • Participate in production support activities to ensure timely delivery of client deliverables.

Data Security & Compliance

  • Handle sensitive and regulated data following company security policies and industry requirements.
  • Support HIPAA, PHI, PII, SOC, and other compliance initiatives.
  • Implement secure coding and data protection practices.
  • Ensure appropriate audit trails, retention policies, and controls are maintained throughout processing workflows.

Education, Experience and Training (Knowledge):

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree or in lieu of degree, 6 years directly related work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in data processing, variable data programming, document composition, or direct mail operations.
  • Experience supporting high-volume print and mail production environments.
  • Knowledge of USPS regulations, mailing processes, and postal optimization.
  • Experience working with sensitive or regulated data.

Skills and abilities

  • Experience with Quadient Inspire Designer or equivalent document composition tool.
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, XML, JSON, and related scripting technologies.
  • Experience with ETL tools (Redpoint or KNIME preferred)
  • Strong understanding of database structures, file processing, and data integration concepts.
  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting production systems.
  • Strong testing, debugging, and quality assurance skills.
  • Experience with version control systems and documentation practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
