Job Duties:
This position serves as an assistant to the Mailroom Supervisor and provides daytoday leadership and guidance to mailroom staff. Performs complex administrative support work for the Inmate Mail System. This position has routine direct contact with inmates and supports the safe and secure processing of inmate correspondence, helping prevent dangerous contraband and other prohibited items from entering correctional facilities while maintaining an open and reliable avenue of communications between inmates and their families, friends, and loved ones.
You'd be a GOOD fit if:
You have a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of experience in customer service, clerical, or administrative support, technical program support, mailroom operations, or correctional unit operations
You have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
You are comfortable working in a fastpaced environment and adapting to changing priorities
You can exercise sound judgment and maintain professionalism when handling sensitive or challenging situations
You are comfortable providing guidance and support to coworkers and serving in a lead capacity
