Job description

Hampden-Sydney College is accepting applications for a part-time Post Office Assistant. This is not a federal position. Duties include: sort and distribute incoming Federal, UPS and Federal Express mail including packages. Assist students, faculty, staff and the public with information concerning incoming or outgoing mail. Assist customers with stamp and envelope purchases, including weighing mail and packages and calculating proper postage to meter all outgoing mail. Respond to customer inquiries in-person, email and/or by telephone. Must keep up-to-date of all postal rates and regulations.

Qualifications: High school graduate with ability to handle cash transactions. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. repetitively.
