Job description

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Risk Consultant plays a pivotal role in nurturing strong customer relationships and providing expert guidance across various facets of our services. Working closely with the entire Customer Service team, this position will address inquiries and concerns with efficiency, accuracy, and professionalism, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service. Beyond risk management and patient safety consultation, the Risk Consultant will also serve as a resource for policy management, billing, claims management, and other company-related inquiries. Additionally, this position will oversee Preserve Program files, ensuring reimbursement to patients following unexpected outcomes, and maintain relevant files in applicable systems.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
  • Maintain collaborative, professional, and consultative relationships with MagMutual clients, offering expert guidance on risk management, regulatory compliance, patient safety, policy management, billing, claims management, and other relevant areas.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing client inquiries and concerns, ensuring resolution and conducting follow-up activities as necessary.
  • Stay abreast of technical and professional developments in the field to provide current, innovative, and customer-focused consultation.
  • Conduct first-touch calls to MPL policyholders reporting a suit or claim, guiding them through the claims journey, and addressing immediate questions.
  • Manage Preserve Program files, ensuring reimbursement to patients following unexpected outcomes, and maintain relevant files in applicable systems.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a technical knowledge database to address common issues and questions experienced by clients.
  • Document and monitor all client interactions and services using appropriate systems, ensuring comprehensive records are maintained.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to deliver world-class service and support to clients.
  • Serve as an internal customer service champion, ensuring clear and regular communication with key MagMutual employees.
  • Reinforce and reflect the established precepts and strategic plans of MagMutual.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field field and CPHRM certification required.
  • One to five years of experience in healthcare risk management, quality assurance, health law, or other related healthcare experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on building and maintaining relationships.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet established deadlines.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment across multiple departments.
