Are you a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Susquehanna Printing Company is looking for a motivated full time District Manager to oversee newspaper distribution operations throughout Lancaster County.


The District Manager will manage independent carrier networks, ensure timely and accurate product delivery, support circulation growth, and serve as a key link between our company, our contractors, and our customers. If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, leading through influence, and making a direct impact on operational success, we'd love to hear from you.


This is a salaried position, and work hours may vary based on operational needs. The typical schedule is approximately 3:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The role is primarily field-based, with about 65–70% of the time spent delivering routes and managing carriers using your own vehicle.


What You'll Do

Manage and Support Independent Carrier Networks

  • Recruit, onboard, train, and retain high-quality independent newspaper carrier contractors.
  • Build strong working relationships with contractors while ensuring compliance with contractual expectations.
  • Monitor and uphold performance standards related to delivery quality, customer service, and reliability.
  • Make personnel-related decisions and address operational challenges proactively.

Drive Circulation and Distribution Success

  • Ensure customer and subscriber satisfaction levels consistently meet or exceed expectations.
  • Conduct route audits to verify delivery accuracy and maintain route integrity.
  • Support circulation growth initiatives and help achieve monthly circulation goals.
  • Utilize sales tools and promotional strategies to increase readership and subscriptions.
  • Assist with single-copy sales efforts and distribution initiatives.

Manage Customer and Dealer Relationships

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for delivery-related concerns and service issues.
  • Maintain positive dealer and customer relationships across your assigned territory.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and implement improvements where needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance efficiency, service quality, and operational effectiveness.
Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
