HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is looking for a Machinist Helper to join their safety conscious team! This opportunity is based out of the La Porte, TX area. This team member will be responsible for loading and unloading materials, parts, and equipment, including materials movement, such as moving raw materials or finished parts.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Industrial setting, refinery, petrochemical, utilities etc.
LOCATION OF WORK: La Porte, TX
WORK SCHEDULE: Per customer requirements

Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operation: Assisting with the operation of machine shop equipment, such as CNC machines, manual mills, routers, and various saws, cutters, and presses.
  • Shop Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining the shop floor, machines, and equipment.
  • Light Fabrication: Assisting with basic fabrication tasks, such as deburring, grinding, and buffing.
  • Quality Control: Checking parts for defects and ensuring they meet quality standards.
  • Assembly: Assisting with the assembly of components.
  • Documentation: Reading and understanding work instructions and shop orders.
  • Safety: Promoting safety practices and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Other Duties: Performing other tasks as assigned, which may include inventory control, part identification, and material organization.

Qualifications
  • Basic Math Skills: Ability to perform simple calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding of basic mechanical principles and shop practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move materials, and stand for extended periods.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with other team members.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with machinists, supervisors, and other shop personnel.
  • Basic Safety Knowledge: Understanding of basic safety practices in a machine shop environment.
