Position Summary

Dawes Rigging and Crane Rental located in Kaukauna, WI is seeking an Aerial Lift Shop Foreman. This is a hands-on role responsible for the overall operations, and housekeeping of the shop and shop equipment This is a full-time, non-exempt, Union position. The successful candidate will be required to join IUOE Local 139, assistance with joining will be provided.

Essential Functions

  • Supervises employees by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy shop environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.
  • Oversee the activities of subordinate employees with the proper service, repair and maintenance of lift equipment and heavy duty trucks.
  • Ensure the shop is organized in a manner that maximizes efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor and maintain all shop equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, services and repairs products to meet manufacturer’s specifications, quality standards and productivity requirements.
  • Manage running costs and maintenance overheads.
  • Review, analyze and track maintenance measures.
  • Inventory management.
  • Maintain conformity to safety requirements and other regulations.
  • Other duties assigned .


Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Must have a strong diesel engine, hydraulic and electrical background
  • Strong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery; to work in conditions with marked changes in temperature & humidity
  • Ability to safely operate complex construction equipment
  • Able to lift 50 lbs

Manufacturer’s training will be an integral part of this position. Applicant must be willing to learn new computer, electronic and hydraulic systems, follow safety guidelines as they evolve in our industry, and remain certified within the various portions of our field such as assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting.
