Job description

PrideStaff is currently seeking dependable and motivated MACHINE OPERATORS & ASSEMBLERS for a manufacturing client located in Joliet, IL. This company manufactures parts for the construction and transportation industries.


This is a Machine Shop environment. Previous manufacturing experience strongly preferred!
1ST SHIFT 7:00am-3:30pm M-F
Pay: $17-$19/hr (DOE)


We are currently seeking numerous ASSEMBLERS & PRODUCTION OPERATORS for a machine shop client in the Joliet area. You will be responsible for manufacturing steel components and stock for customer material, while maintaining top quality in the products produced. You will also be assembling material, sorting orders with corresponding hardware, visual quality inspection, preparing orders to ship, and other related duties. Assemblers are the FINAL step in production!
Job Duties:

  • Assemble material per pick list instructions
  • Package all items per pick list instructions
  • Label items with heat or lot numbers and proper shipping labels
  • Report any discrepancies on picking list to immediate supervisor
  • Other duties a assigned
  • Operate plasma machinery and other required machinery to assist in the production process
  • Assembly materials and equipment as required
  • Inspect finished products for defects to ensure quality standards are met
  • Assist in loading and transporting of raw materials
  • Move components and finished products with the use of job cranes, designated carts, and forklifts
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers to ensure efficient production deadlines are met
  • Conduct inspections and quality control of products
  • Assist in lifting, carrying, and moving heavy loads as required
  • Prepare materials as required, including cutting, sawing, grinding, marking, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Solid written and oral communication skills (must be able to communicate in English)
  • Bilingual in Spanish PREFERRED
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle tasks with competing priorities effectively
  • Detail-oriented, excellent organization and time management skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs.
  • At least 6 months previous warehouse and/or manufacturing experience
