Job Title: Shop Helper

1st: Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Job Description

The Shop Helper supports daily manufacturing operations by assisting with inspections, basic quality checks, and general shop tasks. This role works closely with machine operators and other team members, gradually learning basic machine operation while helping keep the shop organized, efficient, and running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with inspections and perform basic quality checks on products and materials.
  • Support machine operators with setup, operation, and general production tasks as needed.
  • Learn and perform basic machine operation over time under guidance and training.
  • Provide general shop support in any area that needs help, including shipping, packing, basic operating, and material handling.
  • Perform general production tasks such as assembly, grinding, deburring, fabrication, packaging, and packing.
  • Handle materials safely, including loading, unloading, and moving items around the shop.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment as required, once properly trained and authorized.
  • Use a tape measure and basic hand tools accurately to support fabrication and production work.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area at all times.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with the Shop Foreman, management, and other staff to support smooth workflow.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working around machinery and manufacturing equipment.
  • Stand, walk, lift, and operate equipment for extended periods to meet production needs.

This is a Contract position based out of Woodstock, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
