Job Description:

JOB OVERVIEW:

ASawOperatoris an entry-level shop/field position typically requiring little to no prior knowledge or experience. Work is closely supervised and follows standard routines or procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates vertical and horizontal bandsaws.

  • Sands, deburrs, and bead blast parts.

  • Writes and receives machine shop purchaseorders.

  • Identifiesmachiningprocessand work centers.

  • Safely uses hand tools such as grinders, files, Dremel.

  • Keepstrack of inventory levels through cycle counts.

  • Cleans,and performs basic machine maintenance.

  • Delivers all materials and required paperwork to correct location withinfacility.

  • Processes raw material inventory.

  • Unloads, inspects, confirms, putsaway, andcompletesthe receiving transactions on steel shipments asrequired.

  • Performssecondary operations including, but not limited to simple lay-out, drilling, tapping, etc. when not cutting material.

  • Ensuressafety operating procedures are followed throughout projects.

  • Ad-hoc projects as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS&WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The physical demands for this role include standing for extended periods, frequent walking, and performing repetitive motions such as bending, lifting, and reaching.There may be times thatinvolve prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, using a computer, and engaging in repetitive hand movements fortasks like typing or writing.Employees must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier items withassistance. The role may involve operating machinery, using hand tools, andmaintainingprecise hand-eye coordination.Good hearing and manual dexterity are essential for safely performing tasks and ensuring product quality. To effectively complete the tasks in this position, the vision requirements needed are the ability to adjust focus andidentifyand distinguish colors.

The work environment for this role is in a manufacturing facility with machinery, tools, and materials, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Noise levels can be high, and tasks may involve lifting or moving parts. Minimal time will be spent in wet or humid conditions, and near caustic or toxic chemicals.

COMPENSATION: $20/hr
