SWJ Technology specializes in providing engineering, planning, and project management services across various industries. We are currently seeking a Project Liaison for Conveyor Systems for a client in the automotive industry. This role is based in Vance, AL that requires onsite presence. PURPOSE:
The Project Liaison plays a key role in facilitating communication between stakeholders, including development, engineering, production, and external suppliers. Stakeholders are located at the production site in Alabama and within a planning team in Germany. The position ensures that projects are executed smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities include guiding the planning and execution of project milestones and addressing challenges throughout the project lifecycle. Accountability includes maintaining project schedules and coordination efforts, while applying strong problem-solving skills to implement solutions that meet high manufacturing standards.
This position operates in a dynamic environment and contributes directly to the success of automotive production operations across body shop, paint shop, and assembly. Collaboration with cross-functional teams supports the implementation of new conveyor systems and alignment with current industry trends and technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as the onsite primary point of contact for all stakeholders related to conveyor technology projects
  • Facilitate communication between project teams, suppliers, and management to ensure alignment on project goals
  • Monitor project progress and performance, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders
  • Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact
  • Coordinate project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery
  • Participate in the development of project specifications and ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to conveyor technology

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management within the automotive industry or a similar field

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Strong understanding of conveyor technology and its application in manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to think critically under pressure.

PREFERED SKILLS
  • In-depth knowledge of operations at car manufacturer located in Vance Alabama is preferred
  • German language skill is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.

FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:
  • Location: Vance, AL
  • Schedule: Day shift, 40h/w
  • Overtime: as required
  • Duration: 12 months, with option for extending
  • Assignment Start: April 1, 2026
