Who we're looking for

Toyota'sEngineering Support 1 Production EngineeringDepartment is looking for a passionate and highly motivatedMachining Production Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to work within Production Engineering (Differential Machining for Shaft Line).

Reporting to the PE Manager for Differential, the person in this role will support the shaft machining department's objective to efficiently manufacture a high-quality, low-cost product. Need to develop concepts, determine specification & implement: quality, productivity & cost improvements. Able to lead from concept through sustainment after implementation of process reductions (Automation for shaft unload from raw material bins to the machining line). Provide support and leadership of additional areas: for example, sub assembly lines (gear kit) and/or carrier machining.

What you'll be doing

  • Eliminate safety concerns identified via TEBA, TEMATOKA, and risk assessments

  • Deep understanding of Machining within Powertrain. Must understand and apply TPS/TBP principles for continuous improvement and elimination of waste.

  • Must be able to work with all departments within TMMAL and TMNA to foster good working group

  • Be able to balance daily short-term needs with mid and long-term project planning

  • Be able to keep intensity for schedule management in all phases of the project

  • Provide verbal updates of activity and progress (Frequency of 2 per week)

  • Hold working group meetings with production, maintenance and PE (Follow up list. Frequency 1 per week)

  • Report out to executives of activity (Method: PowerPoint- frequency of 1 per 2 months)

  • Cost reduction 2X salary. (Method: PowerPoint- frequency report on 2 per year)

What you bring

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (EE, ME, IE, Eng, Tech)

  • 3 years' experience in automotive manufacturing environment for Production Engineering or Maintenance

Added bonus if you have

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Powertrain manufacturing environment

  • Experience in both Machining and Assembly

  • Experience in Production Engineering support role or Project Management role
