Job Description:

BW Packaging is looking for an experienced Machine Shop & Building Maintenance Technician that is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all facility and production equipment. This role performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, improvements to building infrastructure and machinery while coordinating vendor-specialists as required. Includes two manufacturing site locations (Cuyahoga Falls & Stow, OH) and one corporate-owned on-property residence (Stow, OH).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery, production equipment, and mechanical systems, including CNC machines, forklifts, cranes, powered hand-tools and other related equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics (to troubleshoot/repair machines).

  • Knowledge of Mazatrol and Fanuc control systems for CNC machines

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.

  • Maintain preventative maintenance logs, works orders, and equipment documentation.

  • Coordinate maintenance of company vehicles dedicated to business operations.

Building & Facility Maintenance

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on building structures.

  • Conduct general building repairs including lighting, plumbing, HVAC filters, doors, and structural components.

  • Monitor facility systems and coordinate with vendors when preventative maintenance or repairs are needed.

  • Perform minor carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing and fixture replacements.

  • Ensure exteriors remain safe, clean, and functional.

  • Manage vendor contracts for outside services including trash removal, recycling services, grounds care, and snow removal (as applicable).

Safety & Compliance

  • Manage facility inspections, audits, and environmental compliance requirements, including managing hazardous materials documentation and compliance.

  • Maintains clean, organized and safe work areas while performing maintenance and repair work.

  • Member of the site safety committee, participates in the safety Gemba process, identifies and addresses potential safety issues with urgency and promotes a safety culture.

  • Follows all safety requirements and procedures including lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment and brings a safety-first mindset.

Operational Excellence & Operational Support

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to increase equipment reliability and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with team members and leaders to support production requirements.

  • Respond to emergency requests for facility and equipment repairs.

  • Prioritize work requests considering the potential risk and impact on people and business operations.

Basic Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent with 5+ years of related experienced

AND/OR

  • Associates degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Facility Management or related field with 5+ years of experience working within a Maintenance related area

  • Possess valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
