Job description

Kenworth Sales Co. is looking for a Service Technician Apprentice (2nd Shift) to join our Post Falls, ID team. **Monday - Friday; 10am - 7pm**

JOB SUMMARY: The primary function of the Service Technician Apprentice is to perform superior quality repairs tocustomer equipment and make recommendations for further services as determined by the Technician during service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Receives repair order assignments from Shop Foreman
  • Follows instructions and executes work assignments in repair order thoroughly and efficiently.
  • Maintains superior standard of workmanship in all services performed.
  • Advises Shop Foreman of any recommended changes in services ordered by the customer
  • Determines if any further repairs or servicing should be recommended to the customer, and communicates such recommendations to the Shop Foreman
  • Maintains a level of training and experience with specialized equipment, machinery, and servicing techniques necessary for superior servicing of the customer's equipment
  • Collaborate with and follow guidance from experienced Technicians as instructed by the Shop Foreman.
  • Attends training sessions as required by the Service Manager
  • Performs additional repairs as required when any piece of equipment is returned by the customer because of the Technician's faulty workmanship.
  • Maintains accurate work order records of work performed and time clocked jobs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Working knowledge of truck repair and maintenance. Outstanding mechanical aptitude and skills necessary to produce top results.Trade School or experience as Technician's helper or apprentice in truck shop.Manual dexterity. Good judgment. Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely.Driver's License and good driving record.Excellent organization and communication skills. High school diploma or the equivalent.Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a physically demanding position. Will stand six to eight hours per shift. Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel. Will lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Will use hand and power tools, hoist and test equipment. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
