Position Overview: Machine Operators complete a variety of maintenance, development and operations tasks that promote the efficient production of a manufacturing plant, construction site or other professional setting. A Machine Operator installs, fixes and operates various types of machinery. Their main duties include performing routine maintenance checks, following strict safety regulations and guidelines and operating mechanical or computer-operated equipment.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Machine parts to close tolerances in a safe manner to produce quality parts.
  • Set-up and adjust machines to perform precision operations.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures.
  • Measure and examine completed parts to detect any defects and ensure conformance to product specifications using calibrated measuring instruments.
  • Maintain industrial machinery as required. Perform regularly scheduled equipment maintenance.
  • Record daily production on a computer.
  • Utilize the current ERP system to report labor time, production, and scrap/failures for each sequence of their assigned work order as part of the work order system.
  • Any other tasks assigned to the employee by management whether written or verbal.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be able to read blueprints and utilize a wide variety of measurement instruments to check parts and to verify compliance to quality specifications.
  • Must demonstrate competence with tool room equipment.
  • Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
