Job description

At Trident Maritime Systems - Heavy Equipment Group, we don't just build systems-we build careers. As a leader in the marine and defense industry, we're looking for innovative, forward-thinking professionals who are ready to take on complex challenges and deliver real-world solutions.
We are currently seeking a CNC Floor Bar 5-Axis Machinist in our Rhinelander, WI location. In this role, you will perform set up and machining of large complex weldments in 3- to 5- Axis on a Heidenhain TNC-7 control system. You will operate the Soraluce Horizontal 5- Axis Floor Bar in a safe and productive manner as required.
MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Independently setup intricate parts and fixturing
  • Work from advanced drawings and job layouts
  • Machine intermediate to advanced parts with a high level of quality using materials such as Stainless Steel, Aluminum, exotic and high temperature alloys
  • Make all parts efficiently within print/contract details using materials
  • Overhead Crane operation and rigging
  • Setup tooling using machine setup documentation
  • Maintain equipment and safe work area
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a strong 5-Axis machining background including tool path verification and collision analysis
  • Machining knowledge in a manufacturing industry preferred
  • Completion of Machining program a plus
  • Heidenhain TNC-7 controls system experience strongly desired
  • Basic M & G Code, blueprint reading and math skills is a plus
  • Worked with materials such as Stainless Steel, Aluminum, exotic and high temperature alloys a plus
  • Experience working with large complex weldments (up to 90') is preferred
  • Experience setting up quality gauging preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 60 pounds.
  • Long periods of standing.
