Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Location: North Chicago, IL
Job Type: Temp to Hire
Pay: $16–$18 per hour (based on experience)
Shifts Available:

  • 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM

About the Role Machine Operator (Line Operator):

We are seeking dependable and safety-focused Line Operators to join our production team in North Chicago. This position is temp-to-hire with competitive pay based on experience and a consistent weekly schedule. Operators are expected to arrive before the start of their scheduled shift to prepare their assigned line. The work environment includes exposure to hazardous materials, and the role is considered safety-sensitive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare machines and production lines before each shift.

  • Conduct pre-production checks (tank hook-up, lot numbers, components, weights).

  • Ensure machines are operating efficiently; record any downtime accurately.

  • Monitor product quality and ensure it meets all specifications.

  • Perform equipment cleaning and flushing as necessary.

  • Achieve or exceed targeted production output.

  • Verify correct setup, in-process materials, and finished goods.

  • Operate, clean, and maintain at least one designated machine/line.

  • Serve as a backup operator for an additional machine in the area.

  • Complete post-operative line clearance.

  • Investigate and report any production issues or yield concerns.

  • Assist in training new operators as assigned.

  • Coordinate with Packaging Maintenance on machine issues.

  • Participate actively in assigned safety, scrap, or waste teams.

  • Support food safety-related tasks and activities when required.


Qualifications:
  • Must meet all Packer Stacker requirements, including proper packing, stacking, and labeling per customer standards.

  • Respirator use is required.

  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.

  • Ability to read and understand job orders and material specifications.
