Forklift Operator

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana
Schedule: Mondayโ€“Friday, 7:30 AMโ€“4:00 PM

United Bags offers a wide range of products, including FIBCs (bulk bags), woven polypropylene bags, paper bags, and custom packaging solutions.

Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated, dependable, and experienced Forklift Operator to join our Lafayette warehouse team. The primary responsibility of this position is to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to receive, move, stage, store, and load materials and finished products.

The ideal candidate will have previous forklift operating experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment, be safety-focused, and be comfortable handling heavy materials in a fast-paced setting. We are looking for someone who wants to establish a long-term career with a stable company that values teamwork, safety, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move materials and products.

  • Load and unload trucks while ensuring proper handling and placement of products.

  • Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming materials and products.

  • Pick, stage, and prepare products for outgoing shipments.

  • Safely move and organize inventory throughout the warehouse.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through manual logs or warehouse management systems.

  • Perform routine forklift and equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.

  • Work closely with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to meet shipping and production deadlines.

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Previous forklift operating experience is required.

  • Valid forklift certification is highly preferred.

  • Experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.

  • Ability to safely operate a forklift in confined and industrial spaces.
