Job description


Sofidel is a global leader in the production of tissue paper for domestic and hygienic use. With a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, and safety, we produce high-quality products that serve households across the United States.At our state-of-the-art facility, we operate cutting-edge technology, including two paper machines and multiple converting lines, to support a team of over 600 talented employees.
We are seeking motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as Paper Machine Operators. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn the technical and operational aspects of the paper-making process, starting at the dry end of the paper machine. This position is ideal for those interested in a career in manufacturing with opportunities for
growth and advancement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain roll movement through conveyors and wrapper systems.
  • Operate the wrapper machine to securely poly wrap finished rolls.
  • Ensure proper labeling of paper rolls using automated label machines.
  • Interface with Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs) for parent roll handling and transportation.
  • Support dry-end operations by assisting experienced operators and handling assigned tasks.
  • Assist with maintenance activities during machine outages and downtime.
  • Uphold safety standards, following lockout/tagout procedures and utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in safety programs, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain cleanliness in and around the machine by sweeping and removing debris.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting up to 40 lbs. frequently and heavier loads occasionally (with assistance).
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience in paper manufacturing or similar industrial environments.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to learn and follow complex manufacturing processes.
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Exposure to industrial conditions, including temperature extremes, noise, and materials like steam, dust, and hydraulic fluids.
  • Physically active role involving bending, walking, climbing, and lifting.
Shift Schedule:
12-hour rotating shifts with alternating day and night schedules.
Example:
Day 1 amp; Day 2: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Day 3 amp; Day 4: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
