Job description

The site in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, is the US Centre of Competence for solid carbide tools. A special focus lies on the US aerospace industry which is closely supported with an Aerospace Test Centre on site.

YOUR TASKS:
  • Set-up and operate CNC Multi-Axis for tool and cutter grinding or OD grinding machinery to produce parts according to blueprints, engineering specifications and MAPAL standards
  • Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and work orders to determine machining requirements in accordance with ISO processes and procedures; job router time and manufacturing capacity
  • Tool measurement and testing according to blueprints with appropriate measurement tools like digital micrometer gauge, caliper, 3-axis measuring device
  • Perform routine inspections and adjustments to maintain product quality and meet customer requirements
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges and optical comparators) to ensure compliance with tolerances
  • Operate and adjust machine speeds, feeds, and tooling for optimal performance and quality
  • Keep detailed production logs, including totals, defects, and quality checks.
  • Assist in training new operators and follow established production procedures.
  • Ensure work area and equipment are maintained, organized and cleaned to MAPAL standards
  • Exhibit and exceed all MAPAL behaviors as defined by policy, procedure, quality and safety standards
  • Tasks as assigned to qualification standard

YOUR PROFILE:
  • Education, Experience, Military or Training equivalent to 2-4 year degree program, OJT program or equivalent
  • Working with multi-Axis CNC grinding machinery, OD grinding machines or equivalent machines
  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability/use of precision measurement equipment to required tolerances and MAPAL standards
  • Detail oriented and skilled in understanding process workflow
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding Engineering drawings and instructions
  • Demonstrated experience with metal cutting principles
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and understand prints
  • Ability to understand and effectively execute information, verbal instructions, and written procedures
  • Punctual and reliable; Organized and keeps order/cleanliness
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office 365
  • Good Active listening; Verbal and written communication
  • Follows company policies and safety program as required
  • Willingness to work all shifts, when necessary, overtime
