Job description

Job Summary:

As a Bindery - Operator II you will be responsible for the set up, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of applicable equipment. The equipment operated includes, but is not limited to: Collators, 3-Knife Trimmers, Folders, Flatbed Trimmers, Tipper, 3-Hole Drill, and Belly Band.

Required Systems/Applications:

  • AS400 or Monarch

Essential Functions:

  • Set up, run, and maintain assigned machinery.
  • Troubleshoot assigned machinery according to company procedures and practices to assure efficiency and quality to meet the required production schedule.
  • Read and understand the written information pertaining to the job.
  • Strive to meet or exceed departmental and company goals.
  • Interpret and apply department policies, procedures and job instructions accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with incoming shift personnel to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate counts.
  • Follow all safety procedures as set forth by Walsworth.
  • Move and organize scheduled work for assigned machinery.
  • Assist in training new Bindery Operators.
  • Monitor production and quality to make recommendations on process improvements.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position.
