KLS Earthworks & Environmental is hiring an experienced Field Surveyor.ย We are looking for a professional who is enthusiastic and safety conscious to work full-time in Calgary. Reporting to the Survey Manager the Field Surveyor is responsible for providing crews with survey support and ensuring accuracy in project execution.

Key Responsibilities
- Performย conventional and GPS surveysย using a variety of survey equipment, includingย Topcon Total Stationsย (includingย Robotic Total Stations),ย Commercial UAVย andย advanced GNSS receivers.ย
- Conductย topographic, construction layout, as-built, and volumetric surveys.
- Completeย machine control support, including GNSS dozer calibration, troubleshooting, and data transfer.
- Collect and manage accurate survey data, ensuringย quality control and accuracy in all field measurements.
- Provideย stakeout and layout servicesย for grading, excavation, and underground utilities installations.
- Reporting to the Survey Manager andย working closely withย project managers, foremen, equipment operators, and other site personnelย to ensureย layoutย work aligns with project requirements and design plans
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Maintain accurate field notes and records, and assist in preparingย survey reports.
- Adhere toย KLS safety policiesย and actively participate inย site safety meetingsย andย hazard assessments.
- Work safely in all weather conditions and terrains, ensuringย effective communicationย with the site team to maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimumย 2 years of field surveying experienceย inย civil construction, earthworks, or environmental projects.
- Experience working withย Topcon Total Stationsย (includingย Robotic Total Station) andย advanced GNSS receivers.
- Canadian Civilย andย Commercial UAV Licenseย considered an asset.
- Proficient withย 3D-MC2ย and machine control systems.
- Experience withย GNSS dozer calibrationย and troubleshooting.
- Strongย data collection and management skillsย using survey software and data controllers.
- Proven experience working inย varied terrain and weather conditions.
- Safety-focused with the ability to effectively communicateย hazards, layouts, and plansย to site teams.
- Validย Class 5 driverโs licenseย with a clean driverโs abstract.
