We are currently seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for an individual who is detail-oriented, technology-savvy, and interested in building a career in civil construction, quality assurance, surveying, and project coordination.

As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring quality standards are achieved and maintained on our projects. Working closely with Project Managers, Project Coordinators, field crews, and testing consultants, you will assist with quality control processes, field data collection, documentation, and project reporting. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to multiple aspects of civil construction while developing valuable technical and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all QA/QC activities are understood and implemented in accordance with company, client, regional, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate testing personnel on site and ensure testing is conducted at the correct locations and according to project requirements.
  • Log, collect, and maintain accurate testing and quality control records.
  • Assist with field data collection, surveying, and earthworks activities.
  • Provide timely updates and project data to Project Coordinators and Project Managers.
  • Manage and track on-site truck tickets, including material entry and exit documentation.
  • Assist with project documentation and learn the submittal process.
  • Utilize technology and software systems, including Nektar, to support asset management and project tracking.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Maintain accurate records and support project reporting requirements.
  • Promote and support a strong safety culture on all project sites.

Requirements

    • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is considered an asset.
    • Previous experience in civil construction, earthworks, surveying, quality control, or project coordination is preferred.
    • Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software and technology platforms.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to accurately collect, record, and manage project data.
    • Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications is considered an asset.
    • Experience with GPS machine control, survey equipment, GIS, or construction management software is an asset.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
    • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and ability to travel to project sites as required.
