Job description

Wilcox Machine Company, a Los Angeles based machine shop, is seeking an experienced individual to purchase materials, tooling, outside processing services, etc in support of our machine shop operation.  Similarly, to support the quoting and proposal process by providing pricing from our supply chain.  Job duties include interfacing with internal project managers, estimators/planners, plant supervision, and external vendors and suppliers to establish material requirements and support our team. Established in 1956, Wilcox Machine specializes in CNC and conventional machining of large commercial, aerospace, and government parts and assemblies.  Our work ranges from parts weighing a few hundred pounds to over 100,000 pounds.  We primarily do prototype and low volume production work.

Qualified candidates should have solid blueprint reading, math, and vendor/customer interfacing skills.  Applicants should have an understanding of materials (steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc), as well as outside processes like heat treating, grinding, plating, etc.  Prior experience estimating and production planning of machined parts and assemblies is highly desired.  Computer skills are required, and experience interpreting customer supplied models is desirable.  Prior experience in a machine shop environment is also beneficial.
