MACHINE OPERATOR - $2,000 HIRING BONUS
Pay Range: $24-28 based on experience
Differential: $2/hour

OVERALL SUMMARY
Under general supervision, sets up and operates standard milling machines, lathes, and other machine tools as directed in the support of Elliott Equipment Company. Responsible for the manufacture of components and assemblies to tolerances as directed by drawings, internal sketches, or other forms of instruction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to operate and program numerically controlled machines lathes drills, mills, and other related equipment to fabricate parts.
  • Performs precision machine work in order to create, assemble, disassemble, modify or repair machines, apparatus, mechanical devises and subassemblies. Makes, fits and installs parts
  • Operates all machine shop power tools including lathes, mills, drill press, punch press, saws, shears plasma and brake, applying knowledge of machining properties of various metals
  • Uses precision measurement and layout tools, including micrometers, calipers, rules, squares and compass, applying shop mathematics and formulae from handbook charts and tables
  • Reads and interprets drawings, sketches and diagrams
  • Successful understanding of programming/operation of CNC lathes, mills and Accer, including g-code programming, AutoCAD
  • Builds and/or modifies equipment in accordance to established specifications to meet specific project requirements
  • Repairs and/or modifies existing and new products accordance with established specifications and procedures
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
  • Continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Individual must possess these knowledges, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:

  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Good math and measurement skills
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Intermediate computer skills, i.e. Word, Excel, and Access

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma, technical certificate, or equivalent coursework or training in a directly related area with 3+ year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
