Job description

Machine Technician

DMMI Production 2A - GSR Line 3 Braze / Core Assembly (GA3), Dept. 393

Core Hours:  4:00 PM - 12:30 AM

** A RESUME IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (MUST meet minimum qualifications to be considered)

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.  

  • Must be a current Lead Associate II (L2) or have the equivalent experience (i.e. efficient machine operation, performing preventative maintenance, understanding production ratios, applying LOTO, 3S and 5S in daily activities, deep understanding of product quality and documentation, experience in Kaizen and Practical Problem Solving). 

  • Must have successfully completed both portions of the Machine Technician Assessment. Must be able to read and interpret manuals and perform basic math with a calculator.  

  • Must be able to read, compute, interpret, construct and maintain charts, records, log books and graphs. 

  • Must demonstrate proper use of basic hand tools and measurement devices.  

  • Must have basic computer skills. 

  • Must have general knowledge of machine repair, safety procedures and DMMI policies and standards including the HR Policy and Procedures manual, TS16949 and ISO14000. 

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the equipment by TPM standards, schedule monthly TPM activities, find abnormal machine problems as well as finding the root cause of the problem, verify product quality, find machine quality problems, identify and adjust the machine to correct using root cause analysis and assisting with production needs as necessary. 

  • Communicate with support areas, lead and direct associates during TPM activities, track, plot and implement countermeasures for downtime trends and train associates on complex and robotic machines. 

  • Repair minor items, safely operate and maintain machines by mass production criteria (quality, cost, delivery), and stabilize the machines' working parameters. 

MINIMUM POSTING ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • More than 2 years in current position unless promotable

  • Last Performance Appraisal Meets or Better

  • No Active Written Discipline

  • Must be able to pass DENSO Job Specific Communication Assessment

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position
