What are typical projects and responsibilities for someone with an MFA in Ceramics?
Professionals with an MFA in Ceramics often engage in a mix of studio practice, teaching, and participating in exhibitions or residencies. Daily responsibilities may include creating functional or sculptural ceramic works, managing and maintaining studio equipment, and developing lesson plans or mentoring students if in an academic setting. Collaboration is common, whether it’s working with other artists, curators, or community organizations on projects and installations. Many also research new techniques and materials to innovate within their practice. This variety provides opportunities for artistic growth and career advancement in both academic and independent creative paths.
