Course: Inclusive Classroom Management Essentials and Behavioral Collaboration

In this course, teacher candidates will learn the foundations of creating safe, productive, and inclusive classroom environments. They will explore strategies for fostering motivation and engagement, tailored for both general and special education settings. Candidates will learn to analyze data from a variety of sources to determine the purpose of interfering behaviors and determine behavior management and adaptive strategies to address the behaviors. Additionally, they will dive into functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans, preparing them to effectively support all learners.

What You Will Do:

Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance, and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession. Other main responsibilities include the following:

  • Facilitate weekly main discussion forums to engage students in the online classroom.
  • Adhere to weekly grading requirements, deadlines, and timeframes.
  • Respond to students' questions and emails within the established timeframes.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Qualifications: Please read carefully and ensure you meet qualifications before submitting your application.

  • Preferred: Doctorate in Special Education or Doctorate in Elementary Education or Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or Doctorate in Learning and Teaching or Doctorate in Educational Psychology or Doctorate in Psychology AND valid state teacher full special education and elementary education certification.
  • Minimum: Masters in Special Education or Masters in Elementary Education or Masters in Curriculum and Instruction AND valid state teacher special education and elementary education certification AND exceptional expertise to include a minimum of 2 items. Minimum of 3 years teaching students with disabilities grades K-12 or teaching in an inclusive general education setting for grades K-8.
