Job description

Position: Campus Fellowship Field Staff

Supervisor: Campus Director

Status: Part-Time to Full-Time

Pay Band: E2

Benefits Available (funded through personal support raising): Simple IRA 3% match

Benefits Available only for Full Time Employees (funded through personal support raising):CHM (healthcare), Dental (up to $60 a month),

Additional Benefits (personal support raising not required): Conferences, retreats, training materials, CLD classes through Spurgeon College.

General Summary

This position requires someone who is passionate about reaching and discipling college students. This person must have a heart for shepherding people as they will spend most of their waking hours with people. This person should be able to teach God's word in multiple settings including one-on-one, small Bible studies and large groups. They must be conversant in major college topics - decision making, dating, relational conflict, sexuality, gender, apologetics and so on. They must be willing to plan events for the college ministry. They must be willing and able to delegate and train students in a variety of roles. They must be able to handle an ever-changing relational environment where maturity is often lacking. They must maintain their own personal devotions and spiritual development.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Field Staff (FS) role is a preparatory role. The FS is either preparing to be a College Ministry Director or is fulfilling a strategic role to help the College Ministry Director.


Missional Outreach

  • Help share the gospel with new students
  • Help develop Bible study groups that work well together
  • Help attend weekly hang outs on Friday and/or Saturday nights as is strategic
  • Help plan fall launch
  • Attend weekly college Bible study
  • Attend weekly Midweek service
  • Help plan or delegate regular outreach events


Leadership Training

  • Help delegate all positions in Campus Fellowship: Bible Study leaders, Midweek Set Up, Sound, Slides, Band, Promotion, Follow Up, Philanthropy
  • Help train and manage college staff, residents and interns.
  • Help identify and develop student leaders
  • Regularly meet new students
  • Help counsel students through various life situations
  • Help plan the Fall Conference
  • Help plan the Spring Break Mission Trip
  • Help plan Summer Leadership Training
  • Help read the Bible regularly with those who don't know how to do so
  • Lead and/or attend staff meetings


Church Development

  • Complete a Weekly Review
  • Help maintain alignment in vision with Walnut Creek Church
  • Help keep in touch with post CF community groups
  • Help develop exit strategies for subsequent CF classes in order to keep community, mission and momentum
  • Attend weekly church service
  • Communicate with pastors about college ministry and students
  • Fulfill responsibilities in collaborative church roles (i.e. Facilities, Kid's Ministry, Office Administration, etc.)


Support Raising


Qualifications

  • Degree similar to or above students in ministry setting.
  • Must be a member of Walnut Creek Church
