What is an M Tech?

M Tech professionals are individuals who have completed a Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree, a postgraduate program in engineering and technology. These professionals typically specialize in fields such as computer science, mechanical engineering, electronics, civil engineering, or other branches of technology. They are equipped with advanced technical knowledge and skills, enabling them to work in research, development, design, teaching, or managerial roles in industries, academia, or government organizations. M Tech graduates often pursue careers in engineering firms, IT companies, research labs, or continue with doctoral studies.

What types of projects or research can M Tech graduates expect to work on in their first job?

M Tech graduates often participate in advanced technical projects or research initiatives aligned with their specialization, such as software development, product design, process optimization, or applied research. In their first role, they may collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering problems, contribute to prototype development, or assist in implementing new technologies. These projects not only enhance technical expertise but also provide exposure to industry practices and tools, setting a strong foundation for future career advancement.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an M Tech graduate, and why are they important?

To thrive as an M.Tech graduate, you need advanced technical knowledge in your engineering specialization, strong analytical skills, and a solid academic background with an M.Tech degree. We are a growing solar energy company based in Atlanta, serving the Southeast, committed to helping businesses transition to renewable energy through innovative solutions like Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Our mission is to make clean energy accessible, reliable, and financially beneficial for our customers. We build and own next-generation energy infrastructure — powering cities, businesses and institutions with reliable, renewable energy. We believe the built environment of the future will incorporate renewable power on every surface that can support it. Job Summary

We’re seeking an O&M Technician to join our growing team. This person will be responsible for assisting the Operations & Maintenance team on maintaining the PV systems’ infrastructure and electrical equipment. You will also do preventive maintenance in order to prevent small problems from becoming large and more expensive. You will work closely with your team to make sure the solar power systems give the maximum generation. This role reports to the Manager of O&M.

Prioritize O&M activities so that all projects maintain a minimum uptime of 95%

Identify, record and correct issues and deficiencies with extreme precision and detail

Successfully record work activities using the required applications and systems

Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of Cherry Street Energy operations and maintenance systems

Create new scalable systems and procedures from scratch in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with an entrepreneurial mindset

Effectively communicate across multiple business units to ensure daily operational excellence and collaboration, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and autonomously in day-to-day tasks

Travel primarily limited to within the state of Georgia, some travel outside of the state may be required in the future.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum 1 year experience working performing technical troubleshooting, system commissioning, and/or photovoltaic (PV) operations and maintenance in a field-based environment.

Experience using and maintaining electrical and mechanical testing equipment, including but not limited to torque tools, multimeters, insulation resistance testers, I-V curve tracers, thermal cameras, low-resistance ohmmeters and earth ground testers.

Familiarity with the most common monitoring platforms (Wattch/AlsoEnergy/Locus, EGauge, SMA SunnyPortal, SolarEdge, Enphase, etc) and their use during commissioning, troubleshooting, and plant monitoring.

Familiarity with common causes of failure and under-performance for distributed generation PV systems.

Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) 2014-2023 and its application to solar photovoltaic systems.

Familiarity with NFPA 70B 2023 and its application to solar photovoltaic systems.

NABCEP Certification for PV Installation Professional and/or Commissioning and Maintenance Specialist (preferred).

OSHA-10 Certification Preferred.

Proficient command of digital tools and online platforms, including but not limited to Procore, Smartsheet, Google Enterprise, SolarGrade, and CMMS software.

Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to learn new software platforms.

Proficient analytical skills with small data sets.

Proficient communication and teamwork skills.

A collaborative and mission-driven work environment

Opportunity to make a tangible impact in the renewable energy industry

Competitive compensation

Incredibly subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance, plus 100% employer-paid short-term disability, long-term disability and Basic Life & AD&D insurance
