Job description

Overview

Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. has an immediate opening for an Accountant. In this position, you will be a key part of the Accounting and Finance organization at Lutron. A successful Accountant works to ensure the accuracy of Lutron's financial records while building professional relationships with the Engineering, Sales, Marketing, General and Administrative, Manufacturing and Operations teams. You will gain experience working on one or more Lutron entities or corporate functional areas performing the daily and periodic accounting activities including: month-end close, reporting and analysis, and external audit support.

Responsibilities

This position offers the opportunity to perform manufacturing and cost accounting functions including developing an understanding of Lutron's supply chains; creating plant budgets and assigning work center rates; setting and maintaining standard costs of inventory; performing variance analysis; and reporting on the gross margin. As your understanding grows, you will be asked to provide in-depth analyses, to work on projects, and to identify areas for improvement.

This position offers excellent growth potential with opportunities to work cross-functionally with business leaders to support and enhance Lutron's operations and reputation.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply proven organizational skills and attention to detail whileperforming daily and monthly accounting tasks such as posting journal entries, analyzing transactions, and reconciling accounts
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and reporting standards, identify exceptions, and raise issues as appropriate
  • Analyze and review financial results with accounting and business leadership
  • Assist in the annual financial close and various compliance activities
  • Work effectively both independently and in groups
  • Establish professional relationships with colleagues across multiple departments
  • Take initiative to problem solveandaffect change when needed
  • Travel to Lutron manufacturing facilities as needed for activities like training, physical inventories, and immersion in daily operations to enhance professional development
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for all degrees earned
  • 0-4 years of experience
  • Experience with MS Office suite, especially Excel 
  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position.

  • Willingness and ability to work on-site 5 days per week
